Nothing will put a team in the tank faster than a coaching staff that can't get on the same page. I'm not saying that will happen with the Cowboys, but there is certainly that potential with the odd mix on this staff.

You've got a couple of coordinators in their first year on the job in Jason Garrett and Brian Stewart. That's a little scary in itself.

Garrett, who Jerry has a man-crush on, intereviewed to be the boss man and was hired well before Wade Phillips. Garrett is now considered Phillips' probable successor.

Tony Sparano kept the assistant head coach title, but he was basically demoted after calling the plays for the Cowboys' best offense in a long time last season. WR coach Ray Sherman has 20 years of NFL experience, including two stints as an offensive coordinator. Both of those guys could make an argument that they're more qualified to be the offensive coordinator than Garrett. So could Wade Wilson, who was above Garrett on the depth chart during their days as Troy Aikman's backups.

Stewart was Phillips' hand-picked choice, following the head coach from San Diego. Stewart is only six years removed from being a DB coach at Syracuse, where Cowboys LB coach Paul Pasqualoni was his boss. Secondary coach Todd Bowles was the internal candidate for the coordinator job.

So what are you trying to say mediot?

That thers going to be dissention in the ranks because Garrett got the OC position whilest the others didn't?

I mean i guess that would make sense of Garrett was hired last. But since all of these guys agreed to there job AFTER Garrett was hired, wouldn't that bring to your attention that

IT DOES NOT MATTER

Or where you just bored and decided to type up something silly , and random, with no point or position?

Hmm tough choices

Myself I feel very comfortable with DC Stewart because of his relationship with Phillips and I think there will be a total understanding of what they want in terms of defense and the system they plan on using. As for Garrett he is young but as Deion said the other night Garrett has been around this game his entire life and has a very good understanding of this game. His father worked as a scout for the Cowboys and his brother is also a coach and add to that Jason himself was able to stay around in the NFL for several years not because of his physical talent but because of his mental awareness of the game and so while he may be inexperience as an OC his knowledge of the NFL is vast. I'm excited to see what he brings to this team

My gosh what is going on with the media this week. They are just looking for things to start turmoil with......Give it a rest

McMahon is scratching the ground looking for something to write about. I'll bet the sports editor is lighting fires under every one of them: "we need more circulation! write something controversial!"

Actually, Sparano was still under contract and IIRC was not allowed to interview for other jobs. Of all those scenarios, the Garrett/Sparano would be the most likely candidate for fireworks, especially if the offense goes in the tank. But these guys are professionals, I think they'll handle themselves just fine and it's not an issue.
