Cowboys owner Jerry Jones just stopped by practice and said that he expects starting running back Marion Barber to play Sunday against Denver. Jones said Barber will do more in practice today than he did yesterday.

"He did more than we thought," Jones said of Wednesday's practice. "I'm glad he's looking as good as he did. I think we made the right decision last week [not playing Barber against Carolina]."

Jones said if Barber looks "really strong," he would start Sunday. That will have to be determined in later practices this week.

Jones said backup RB Felix Jones is sore and "more than likely" won't play against Denver.

Jones said the Cowboys could activate Chauncey Washington for the Denver game Sunday.

"There is a good chance he could be up," Jones said. "We all want to see how he practices."

Jones also said that he expects left tackle Flozell Adams to play against Denver, even though he is not practicing today. He came out to practice in shorts and a T-shirt.

"We're holding [Adams] out for precaution," Jones said.

I'm glad to hear Barber is looking better out there, but sometimes I wish Jerry would just shut his mouth. Keep Denver guessing.

Uh oh. Is Jerry setting himself up for another "I really thought Marion was going to play" moment?

I wouldn't mind having Barber active, but not playing him unless we really needed him.

:laugh2:

That's the first thing that came to my mind, too.

No kidding. Didn't he learn from last year? Geez.

Maybe Barber is a 100% lock to play. He better be for Jerry to be piping up again.

In this instance, I think Jerry is saying what Barber wants to hear. Barber feels he is healthy and wants to be out there.

Marion Barber is on the practice field going through the early part of the session that is open to the media.

Of course he did the same thing last week and didn't play.

Felix Jones (knee) is not at practice.

With Monday's game the Cowboys are not in pads or shells for today's workout. Anticipating a loud crowd Sunday in Denver they have speakers ready to simulate the fans.

Marion Barber is in pads for practice.

Wade Phillips said Wednesday that today would be a big day for Barber testing his left quad.

Barber has been limited in practice for the last two weeks but Phillips said it was a 10 day, two week injury. We are right in that window now.

I think Barber plays this week though his workload could be reduced.

By the way there is no sign of Felix Jones but that is not a surprise.

I guess I should be used to it by now...but it STILL annoys me that Jerry is saying who is playing and when and how much.

Wade should be answering these questions not Jerruh.
