Isn't the move of Petitti to LT more about protecting Bledsoe in the preseason since Flo is obviously not ready yet. I sure wouldn't want to start McQuistan or a gimpy Flo against Seattle.

I agree that the reason to play Petiti at LT is either because they feel the need to protect Bledsoe (but that makes less sense this early) or possibly they want him to get work against Ware while Flozell is shaking the rust off. The sooner Flo gets it together the better imo. I like Petiti but I don't want to see him at LT this season.

BP is taking no chances with protecting Bledsoe- that is why he had Petitti working LT. Just in case the Hotel does not come back in time for the pre season games well enough to start. He MUST have someone at least decent at LT - and right now the best candidate is Petitti. Fabini also needs to shape up- though it seemed he did look better in the scrimmage.
I think the Hotel will be ok - but it might take longer then was thought.

Henson was 12-for-16 for 150 yards and led the offense on two touchdown drives and a field goal. After the first TD drive, Parcells was so thrilled that he sprinted (think Matt Damon in The Bourne Supremacy) up the field to congratulate Henson. He immediately gave Henson another series.

Man, it was good to read this. With the media reporting that he doesn't like Henson, this certainly makes them look like mediots. I'm so hapy to read this I might have to put part of this in my signature or something for a little bit.

Often times, when he gives you an answer, it's as straightforward and precise a statement as you'll ever get - I can't figure out why there always has to be some motivating factor or mind game with everything he says.

He's a quote machine. That is the only reason I can think of why people try to read into him so much.

Let's take "don't put him in the Hall of Fame just yet." Why does he say it? Many reasons. Number one is to keep the player focused on something other than the praise they receive. Is he tearing that player down? Not really, but people interpret it that way.

Is he unique in this? Only in that he uses such colorful stories to go about his coach speak. Most coaches when asked about a player's performance will not give you such an image in their answers.

That's the difference with Parcells. Just about every HC I've ever come across has harsh things to say. Not all of the are colorful. Not all of them as civil as Parcells. I mean that. Most things that coaches say are not for print or air. Ask anyone who has played. There is very little PC about a locker room or huddle.

You hate your coaches until you "get it." If Romo or Henson feel hate for Parcells, it means they don't get it. Trust me, he loves those kids and he wants them to "get it." No coach wants dead beats and wash outs. Let me repeat that, no coach wants them.

I've been calling it premature evaluation for a couple of years. If these kids are still on the team it means one thing, he's trying to make them better. If they're gone it means one thing, they didn't "get it." There's no hatred there. I mean it, there's no hatred of his players.

I so completely agree with this.

Parcells likes his guys - if he doesn't, he gets rid of them immediately (see Derek Ross, Antonio Bryant). He is always pulling for them

To take it further - Parcells doesn't ask his players to be superstars or perfect. An example is Ebenezer Ekuban. I remember in 2003, everyone just called Ekuban a scrub when he didn't dress for that one game.

It was 'this guy wasted our pick' and 'why doesn't he get it.'

Parcells came onto a press conference and defended him, saying - look - I like Ebenezer. He has done everything I have ever asked him to do - he just didn't get the job done.

If Romo or Henson don't pan out, or if Parcells releases one - it won't be because he doesn't like them. If he didn't, we wouldn't still be talking about them.
