Philadelphia DC offers advice on stopping McNabb

Donovan McNabb is scheduled to make his regular-season debut as Washington's quarterback against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 12. Philadelphia defensive coordinator Sean McDermott offered a tip on how to slow McNabb.

Look to block McNabb's passes.

``Donovan gets a lot of balls tipped at the line of scrimmage, and I know that,'' McDeromott said in a session with Philadelphia media. ``We're going to put our hands up.''

This likely does not come as stop-the-presses news to the Cowboys. In going 3-0 against the Eagles last season, the Cowboys knocked down three McNabb passes at the line. McNabb had a league-high 19 passes deflected at the line out of 443 passes overall. Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo had 13 passes deflected at the line out of 550 throws overall.

I would not mind seeing Washington go in to Philly and put a butt whipping on them at all.

Me either. As much as I dislike the Skins, and I really dislike them, there is no greater hatred of any team, in any sport, than what I have for the Eagles.

I'd love it if McNabb went out and beat them twice this year. That would be hilarious. Especially the game in Philly.

I'd love to see Wash beat Philly twice this year. And the Eagles and Giants can split. I'm not worried about Washington.

I have some advice for the Eagles.

Anthony Spencer was all over McNabb last year, because you let Dallas back into the first round and take him away from the Patriots. Dallas ended up with Felix Jones and Anthony Spencer.

Not smart.

I wouldn't get all giddy about McNabb having "balls batted down".

Can't wait for Shawn Lee to make it hurt like Spencer will continue to do.

The arrogance of the Eagles amazes me.

But, hey...

You got your draft picks.

What ever...

I'd really love it if those were the only two games they won all year. :D

I call them 'worm burners' ...he chucks the ball straight into the ground more than any starting qb I've ever seen....with the exception of joey harrington. Yeah, that's right, I just compared Mcchoke to joey freakin' harrington.....

If the NFL were truly serious about concussions, they'd do something about the ones that McNabb gives the gophers on his third down passes.

I laughed out loud and woke up the wife. It's 3:30 in the morning and insomnia is kicking my butt.
