Do you really expect this to be a good team?

I like to think I'm pretty objective, and when I look at the 2012 Dallas Cowboys, I see the ingredients for a very poor season. There are just far too many holes and unaddressed needs to think this team is going to compete for the playoffs. Both lines are more or less disasters at this point, the wide receivers are china dolls, and there's hardly any depth throughout the roster.

This is looking like a 6-10 kind of team to me and worse than the team I predicted would be 7-9 or 8-8 last year, which ended up being correct. I know that it's not a popular opinion, but what exactly do you see if you think this team will be better?

6-10 would require some injuries or a complete collapse IMO, but 8-8 is looking more and more likely. We have almost no quality depth and our offensive line is just atrocious.

I think this is a 6-10 team right now with the massive weaknesses on the lines and the difficult schedule. If we get the wrong injury, this is a team picking in the top five of the draft, IMO. It's just not a good football team.

Yes. I really do. A lot of the problems with this team right now are being blown WAY out of proportion.

I'm thinking mediocre. Anywhere in that 7-9 to 9-7 range seems likely in my eyes.

This won't be popular but there's not a lot of difference in an 8-8 team and 10-6/6-10. Sure we could go 6-10. We could go 14-2. My guess is somewhere between 8-8 and 11-5.

Interior OL, WR depth, and secondary are still question marks.

Winning starts with the lines, and Dallas is just bad in those spots. Tyron Smith is becoming a good player, but is there one other asset on either line? Free was terrible last season, Ratliff will be OK to start the season and then fade, and the rest of the guys are just junk.

I haven't even seen a pre season game so I have no idea.

I know if Romo is healthy at worst we'll be in the playoff mix all season though.

Yes, absolutely. We were 7-4 at one point last year, and this team should be better. This team has a lot of talent and, most of all, a top QB.

I'd like to hear why we should be 6-10, unless you're expecting injuries to our best players.

We improved across the board over last season and yet it's going to be a worse team? How do you explain that reasoning? At what position did we get worse at? Name one.

Wait.

So Hatcher, Lissemore, Crawford, Geathers, Brent are all junk?

Bernadeau, Livings, Kowalski, Free are all junk?

Wow. Thanks for enlightening me. I thought they were solid to good players.

We're doomed.

Well, I think injuries to Bryant and Austin are foregone conclusions. Romo is probably due to miss some games like he does every other season. The backs are injury prone. I just don't see what you guys are seeing, apparently. It just looks like a bad football team to me. The ineffectiveness of both lines will go a long way toward reducing the effectiveness of the skill players on both sides of the ball.

I say we just miss the playoffs again this year. How are things being overblown? We didn't address the center position in free agency or the draft? Now we are searching for scraps on the streets. Well at least Jerry isn't concerned about the interior line

My god, can we at least wait until we see a damn game first before we start firing out ridiculous predictions? The only way we go 6-10 is if we have injuries to our top players like Romo, Ware, Carr and Lee. We improved in the secondary, we added depth and got younger on the defensive line, we finally have some young linebackers. I don't understand where people see a 6-10 team here? Yes, our offensive line has major questions marks, but the offensive line wasn't the reason we missed the playoffs last season. That belonged to our atrocious secondary and I believe we will be improved in that area.

Come on, guys... at least wait until the first pre-season game before making predictions. Hell, even that's too early, but whatever... not gonna waste my time explaining this to people who have no faith in this team. If you have no faith and don't believe in this team, don't watch the games.

Look, the only loss between this is Laurent Robinson, a decent WR talent who was greatly helped out by superb quarterback play. Now talking about additions, the secondary was our weakest point and is now completely revamped, our linebacking corps lead by Lee will be an aggressive force this year, and the pass rush has some new faces.

Last years team went 8-8. Is Laurent Robinson really more important than Mo Claiborne,Brandon Carr and a younger defense all together?

Things are being overblown because of a few injuries along the OL.

If 2-3 CBs were injured and we didn't go out and get Carr and Claiborne, it would be "damn geezer Jerry ignoring the defense as always, we're doomed"

You can't predict injuries.

This team from an overall perspective is leaps and bounds better than the team last year that went 8-8 just barely missing the playoffs. To say we improved but we'll lose more games is daft and a knee-jerk reaction.

This team has some very good parts. In fact, with an upgrade at safety, it could field a legitimate top 5 defense.

Unfortunately, it has some major weakness, especially along the offensive line, that may prevent any significant improvement from last season. The Cowboys may be a better overall team, but based on early returns, I don't think they've surpassed the Giants and Eagles.

Hell yeah I do. I expect us to be one of the best teams in the league. We've got an elite QB, two very solid runningbacks, elite tight end, solid recieving core, elite tackle, best overall defensive player, elite linebacker, and a damn good secondary. Only holes are at center, guard, and that's probably it.

Call me crazy, but I think we can go all the way this year and finally end our Super Bowl drought.

I expect it to be decent. I don't see the playoffs this season. The oline is shaky at best, and Romo could be throwing to no-names for a chunk of the season. We also still don't know how the D will actually be.
