Do you think Jerry Jones is sold on Romo?

Dosen't anyone remember somthing that JJ said a while back regarding the QB position?

He said something to the effect, "We might already have the QB of the future on the team right now..."

So, that sort of tells me that JJ knew what he has in Romo, and I don't buy this stuff about JJ might not want him because he's not a "blue chipper"...

Jerry said himself that he was dissapointed when Bledsoe was benched and lowered his expectations....

Going back further in preseason he made it clear that Bledsoe was his guy to lead this team where they needed to go....playoffs and beyond.

Jerry has never been a romo backer, he did everything he could to keep Henson around because that was his guy as well.

You're always disappointed when you have to bench a starter, he's still getting paid but not playing: not exactly the most sound business situation. My expectations would also drop if I benched a proven starter for a guy who's never thrown a meaningful pass. However, Romo has come in and outplayed that proven starter over a 2 1/2 game stretch.

As far as 'who's backing who', Jerry Jones is going to back a winner. Period. A lot of you think that Jerry has a thing for Drew Bledsoe or something from his quote from a few weeks back when a lot of people (even ESPN) claimed that Jerry was against the benching. Once more if you all were paying attention and read the whole quote and didn't take it out of context (like ESPN did) Jones was supportive of Bledsoe but very non-committal. In fact, with his statements he politically straddled the fence in ways that would make a pole dancer jealous.

In the future please pay attention.

Where do you guys dream this stuff up at, thats a ignorant statement. Nobody cares where he came from, He fell in their lap. Great

I agree...the original post was pretty stupid

I'm sure Jones will be absolutely thrilled if at seasons end, Romo has improved and played at a level at or above what he's already doing...its to his advantage to have him work out...to suggest Jones doesnt want him to is pure ignorance

Jerry said he was disappointed that it came to having to bench Bledsoe, because they had such high expectations regarding the team, i.e. the Super Bowl. This means that he knew Bledsoe could NOT get the team to the Super Bowl.

It had nothing to do with his personal preference of Bledsoe over Romo....

Which is huge. Teams are extremely happy and look at themselves as being fortunate if they draft a QB in the first round and he pans out. To get a QB that you signed as an undrafted free agent to pan out is pretty much unheard of. It also puts the team in a big advantage for salary cap reasons as well as being able to have drafted at other positions instead of using a high pick to get the QB.

I agree about having illusions on Romo. But if he plays at this pace, it wouldn't be prudent to draft a QB early. I'd rather see them get a veteran backup or somebody with talent that was cast away by another team and then perhaps draft a QB in day 2 of the draft.

YAKUZA

If we do anything in the offseason (draft or otherwise) but OL Coach, LT, LG, C, RG or RT I will f****** declare a Jihad on our front office and everyone on this board! LOL
