Do you want a true fullback? Hunter Luepke NDSU

As someone who has watched alot of NDSU football kid is really good. He is not just a blocking FB dude can run and catch. The real knock on him is the jump from FCS to NFL is massive but it might be worth the risk.

Good to hear from someone who watched full games.
YouTube highlights make anyone look like an All Pro.
What round would you pull the trigger on him?

4th or 5th round he will be gone after that IMO. 3rd round is too early.

I love Zeke, but I feel like this guy (or maybe another FB - I havent studied FBs for a while) can do the things that Zeke can still do well such as pass pro and short yardage, while also being able to lead block and play ST, all for the price of a day 3 pick.

Yes please!

I’m optimistic that with McCarthy asserting more control over the offense that we may see it’s return.

And the PFF Mock Draft simulator essentially ‘gifts’ him to me with my last pick most every time.
He won't last until the 7th round

Why would I want a true fullback?

(Not really looking for a VCR either, in case you're wondering.)
OP is doing Luepke a disservice by calling him a “true fullback”. Modern fullback would be a better description. Not saying he will definitely fulfill his potential, but Luepke is comparable to a Kyle Juszczyk that can possibly catch 30-35 passes a year and be a goal line/short yardage back. While also being an asset in blocking obviously.

With that said, last 5th round comp pick at the very earliest is where I would consider Luepke.

I really think the FB is a part that round our McCarthys offenses. He had John Kuhn and Aaron Ripkowski
Luepke is more than just a standard FB... Luepke is a player that moves the chains, either by blocking, running or catching. WC offenses use FB's because the concept is based on getting first downs and controlling time of possession...nothing flashy. He's not going to break off long runs or stretch the seams, but rather convert a 3rd and 5 on a swing pass or put his hat down in short yardage, either as a runner or blocker. As a viable weapon he'll have to be accounted for...I mean, he can be lined up in the I and then motioned out to the edge or slot, he's going to help stretch the defense out.

this Luepke looks good and look at this what looks like a wing - T offence i would like to see some wrincles of this it would definitely help Dak

Luepke shoulder got ripped up bad vrs S.Iinois late in season.....
was unable to play in senior bowl, now doubts he ready for Nfl combine...
Will push him lower in draft.
Great player, great kid....hopefully gets a shot

BIson got injury bug last year...10 players plus 3 to portal......

No need. If they draft Bijan, he'll block for himself...also Bijan can play as a Wildcat QB and pass the ball to himself or run with it.

However, a FB is never a bad thing, especially since Mike McCarthy had them as a staple for short yardage plays.
