Do you want a true fullback? Hunter Luepke NDSU

I think a good FB is still worthy on a roster, but they are a dying breed in the NCAA and the NFL.

If he can show that he can be a short yard back and at least offer a threat in the passing game then yes there's value there.

I thought Ben Mason would of been a good one, but he's been on the practice squad for the past few years.

Luepke is a versatile sledgehammer...Has played all over a pro-style offense. Snaps at fullback, tailback, Y tight end, Sniffer, and even boundary X receiver. Gets down and dirty as a sniffer and fullback, eyeing up linebackers and defensive backs en route to devastating blocks. Competent lead blocker that can bury edge defenders on stretch plays or get up to safeties on gap runs. A no-nonsense runner when he has the ball. Is patient and will pace the hole before erupting for yardage. Runs to and through contact, burying singled-up tacklers. First contact rarely brings him down.

His versatility is an asset...with the issues our TE's had last year in sustaining their blocks, Luepke can help offset that problem.

Luepke as the 3rd down back that picks up the blitz and then slips out, and allows you to replace Zeke with younger, smaller, faster backs, IMO. New backs aren't the issue, getting the QB killed is.
With the ability to actually block in space, he might be a bigger piece than most people know.
