Dodgers great Fernando Valenzuela dies at 63

Fernando Valenzuela, the cultural hero and baseball legend whose journey from a dusty pitcher’s mound in rural Mexico to center stage at Dodger Stadium launched a movement for baseball fans around the globe, died on Tuesday. He was 63.

He had the Baseball World at his feet in the 80’s , quite the story . What is it about the Dodgers organization that has excellent pitching decade after decade ?

I remember his 81' season and the phenomenon of Fernando. Back in '81, baseball was on par with football in terms of popularity. He was international news.
