Ya, I have a Kindle. I like it. It's not the newer model, but it's okay for the great deal I got on it when woot.com had it one day. Free lifetime Whispernet and all that. I read on it a LOT during my daily mass transit commutes.

I absolutely love my Kindle. I take it with me everywhere.

Everywhere. :D

One of the best things I have ever purchased. I read constantly and the convience of the ebook lifestyle and instant delivery from Amazon over free 3G is 2nd to NONE.

I read kindle books all the time but on my regular PC and it's great, I only bring this up because a lot of people think you have to have a Kindle device to read kindle books but actually you can use several devices (PC,Iphone,Ipad, laptop etc.).

I'm sure the Kindle ereader makes it a lot better though and portable.

I have a Kindle Touch 3g. I don't use it that often, but I really do love it.

Funny you should bring that up. Yes, Amazon has a "Kindle cloud reader". I only discovered it because for the first time, I bought a Kindle book while online at Amazon from my PC. Except, I hadn't really realized that I had two separate Amazon accounts...and the one I bought the book on was NOT the one I had registered my Kindle to! ...so I could only access the book from the "Kindle cloud reader".

I got it worked out (had to get a refund on purchase, then re-buy through my other Amazon account), but that's how I found out.

On a side note: It is possible to move the Kindle registration from one Amazon account to another, but if you do that, you will lose all prior purchases that are on the Kindle, and the Kindle can only ever be registered to exactly one Amazon account at any given time...

I had the same thing. Kil bought me the Kindle, but then I had to un-register it and re-register it under my account.

I had books on there that I had already downloaded, but I didn't lose any of them. They were all free books, though, which might have been the difference.

It's possible that the tech support person I was chatting with gave me bad information about that, as well.

Actually studies suggest that girls are much more likely to be good readers...:laugh2:

I'd highly recommend Kindle. If you want to go crazy, get the Kindle Fire. Half the price of an iPad and does all the same stuff...status quo for apple products.

I have a Kobo (for Chapters, a Canadian bookstore chain). I like it but my sister got us the black and white version and I prefer holding a book.

I have a Nook Color and I really like it. I travel frequently so it's really nice to have. I can read books, magazines (reading SI on it is outstanding), play games, stream movies, and listen to music. It makes air travel less stressfull. I've also read a lot more books than I used to because it's so easy. Sometimes I read 3 or 4 books at a time. If get tired of reading one book and can easily switch to another.

I'd like to hear some reviews, too. I got a first-gen Sony Reader years ago, then it died on me. Got a replacement for Christmas in 2010 and it's better than the first one, but way behind the times now.

I'm mainly interested in ones that work well with PDFs I've already downloaded, not so much in buying new books.

I can almost just use my phone, as it has a 4.3" screen, but of course the battery doesn't last nearly as long as a dedicated reader with e-ink.
