For me, it doesn't, because this was a spectacular meltdown, especially on defense, one of the worst in team history. If this had been an ultra close game, and then the Pack wins in OT, and goes on to be NFC Champs, I would say, "Okay, we came up a little short against a great team." But our defense looked like wax figures in a coal furnace. They started the game with two great plays in which they stuffed the run, then it was meltdown time after that. They looked like a team of preseason scrubs playing against the greatest team in history. They didn't look like they belonged on the same field. The offense had its share of mistakes, but I don't think they completely disappeared. The defense did. Our defense looked like it couldn't have stopped a team from Hill College (if they've even got a team).

I hope no fan is ridiculous enough to blame this one on Dak. He made some bad plays, yes, but he also hung in there and made several good plays. I wouldn't say he disappeared, but I would say that about the defense. I can't think of a worse defensive performance by a Cowboys team. Maybe the 1985 collapse versus the Bears was worse. It's hard to say. This was a nightmare.

Before the game, I was watching science documentaries on a streaming channel. Makes me wish I had kept watching that.
