Jerry Jones has never used a 1st round pick on an OL in his tenure with the Cowboys. Is this merely a coincidence? Or is this some sort of philosophy of Jerry's that will continue into this year?

We have backed ourselves into a corner with our depth (lack there of) on the oline.

There is a good chance the best player available in the 1st may be a lineman so we just need to pull the trigger.

I dont see any way possible the BPA will be an olineman..If Iupati or Pouncey fall, sure, but I dont see them falling..I dont see Davis falling either..Lets not even talk about the top 3 tackles..

Why exactly are we so desperate? We have a good starting five. It is not like we have a hole on the line to fill. Any offensive lineman we draft will most likely come in as depth. That is not desperation.

It's been a philosophy, imo, with OL and WR. That doesn't mean he will NEVER take an OLman or WR in the first(see Alvin Harper) but his track records says he doesn't really like to take either possition in the first. Does that need to change? Again, imo, i'd love to see a big OL guy taken @27 but i don't think it's an absolute must. There are still gonna be guys out there that will be able to help along the OL if we needed to go get one.

I do not think the first pick will be an OL unless Iupati falls into our laps. I expect #27 to be a CB or DL.

Because our depth sucks and we have an unknown at left tackle.

Kosier is in a contract year and Colombo's deal ends soon.

Not to mention there is a little age factor. Not much of one but its there.
