Does this team even game plan to take out certain players?

How did the Cowboys know that Aiyuk was out, Debo wasn't himself, but they had Kittle left as their only main weapon. The RB went out early with an injury, so that even helped! Our game plan was to match up Wilson against Kittle with no help? What kind of confidence does this team have in it's players. You all the time where teams target CD Lamb and will bracket him, or the focus will be on neutralizing Micah with several offensive players. Yet our game plan AFTER having time to prep, was to have our slowest safety one on one with the 2nd best TE in the league!

What's going on?????

They gave up 200+ on the ground. A lot of people will argue that games are won and lost through the air and I think there is a lot of truth to that, however the ground game sets it up to where teams can have those 1v1 advantages in the passing game.

Somewhere you have to have guys that are capable of winning their individual matchups in order to give you the opportunity to commit resources to doubling up a teams top receivers. This has been the Cowboys biggest issue on both sides of the ball.

I think you’d rather have Kittle beat you than Deebo. But I mean the defense can’t stop Purdy from running. They really can’t stop anyone but Deshaun and truth be told I came away from that game feeling like he ran all over us.

I have some hope defensively that once they start to get healthy they can be more of a league average type of defense. Problem is they need to stay healthy as the depth just isnt there. Other issue is you dont really have help coming on the offensive side of the football so you're counting on player improvement there.

I think 2024 is already over for this team from a playoff perspective, I'm just hoping to see improvement out of the young guys that need to contribute in 2025.

The game plan was to stop the run and live with what happens in the passing game.

Zim had a good plan. They indeed did stop the run for a half with a 6 - 1 front. But then……..Purdy started to run and Wilson can’t cover for nothing. And Dak threw an int on his side of the field.
