I don't know for a fact but I think I read somewhere that Dorance got a new d coordinator his senior year and was asked to do different things like play the run instead of rush the qb. Glad the Cowboys kept him and saw his potential. Developmental time in the nfl is kind of a lost art now a days. When Dorance Armstrong was a senior, a few draft experts had him as a late first round draft pick about this time of year. That was based on ten sacks or so as a junior. Then he kind of slid off everyone’s radar and had only 2 sacks as a senior . I was thrilled we got him where we did.

If you aren't putting up double digit sacks every year posters here will call you a draft bust even if you are undrafted. Many on here we’re ready to give up on him as not even a jag. He developed and the coaches deserve some more credit.
This is correct.
"Don't read too much into that sack total this year. They didn't really cut him loose this year. I still like the talent and he will help himself at the Combine." -- NFC Director of Scouting
There are only like 4 KU football fans on the planet. I knew he would take a moment to get stronger, but the effort was always there. Many on here we’re ready to give up on him as not even a jag. He developed and the coaches deserve some more credit.
Even worse, it’s harder to name anybody who really came out of Kansas with success in the last 30 years. I can only think of Gravedigger Brown, Stubblefield, Talib, Chris Harris Jr,There are only like 4 KU football fans on the planet. Not just him, but the entire team after Dak went down. Should this team continue it's success, I'd love to see MM receive coach of the year. He's been dynamic! Many on here we’re ready to give up on him as not even a jag. He developed and the coaches deserve some more credit.
So true.If you aren't putting up double digit sacks every year posters here will call you a draft bust even if you are undrafted.

He didn’t slide off opposing teams radar… he was literally the only good player on a horrible team. Most of the scouting reports said he spent that last year being doubled and sometimes triple teamed. His production dropped and he had a bad combine running 4.8s. He was still projected to be a early third, maybe sneak into the bottom of the 2nd. We even considered taking him in 3rd (reports). Sitting there in 4th was a steal! When Dorance Armstrong was a senior, a few draft experts had him as a late first round draft pick about this time of year. They are getting better.
Yeah that is why every home game is a sell out. Geez.
Thanks! I didn't realize that had happened. So Dorance was an after thought. Perhaps almost being gone has lit a fire under his patootie. Regardless am happy he is still here. And who was this randy you speak of? J/kThey didn't intentionally keep him for his potential. Remember this isn't his 1st blocked kick either. He did it last year once or twice, and got 5 sacks in a very limited role. They had actually let him go but then when randy signed with denver they offered him a contract along with fowler.
His role was limited last year, he hurt his knee vs Chargers and was out for 2 weeks… he then got the most playing time of his career with both Lawrence and Gregory missing time and performed well with that opportunity! They didn't intentionally keep him for his potential.
