Dotson never played for the Cowboys so Dan Quinn was comfortable moving on

A rare in-division trade: Washington is sending former first-round pick Jahan Dotson and a fifth-round pick to the Eagles in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick and two seventh-round picks, per sources.

Time will tell, but if so not by much since they got a 5th back. Who really counts 7ths? They had two 3rds in next year’s draft. Kid is only 24 years old and has 11 TDs in 28 games. He’s their #3 WR

After the trade, they still have picks in rounds 1,2,3,4, and now 3 in the 5th.
It’s the best of the 3rd rounders…does that mean it becomes a 2nd if reddick reaches certain thresholds?

No Reddicks is 2026. This is dolphins 3rd rounder eagles got for trading out of 120 this year. In short it is basically equal to "drafting dotson with a 4th this year and getting a 5th back for 2 7s next year" ....don't know how Howie does it all the time ...darn...meanwhile dumb and dumber r playing with each other's nuts

Too much to give up for a busted 1st rounder .

That would be the comments if done here. But genius move for Philly from our Eagles faction on here.
I'm guessing they'll look at it this way. Is he better than what they had last year? I would say so. Does he have promise? Sure seems that way. Is he young? Yes. He's local, and I'm sure they followed his career in Penn State. Is He's worth swapping a 3 for a 5 and something. Wasn't he a first-round pick just 2 years ago? It looks like a good move for them. They sure are stacked. Just think if Tom Brady had all those weapons on that offense.

the kid vanishes for long stretches. BUT I guess its worth a dart throw. Receivers are among the easier things to find. Philly must be desperate. That may speak to the wr room there.
They have darts to spare and are looking for someone to step up and take that #3 receiver spot. Their 1/2 combo of Brown and Smith is among the best in the NFL, so I hardly think they are desperate. This is more a case of having a GM that tries to improve the team from player 1 to 53 every day he's on the job.

He isn't that bad.....he endured a bad Commanders line up & coaching last year. As for the Commanders.......trade within the division?

And he's sliding into the 3rd WR slot for them. So he won't have the same expectations he had in Washington being a former 1st round pick. He caught like 45-50 balls last year for around 500 yards. As a third WR, slot guy on a better offense than what he had in Washington? Yeah, that's pretty good for Philly.

It basically all comes down to Hurts now. He's throwing to arguably the best trio of WRs in the NFL (them or the Texans or Bengals assuming Chase shows). He has a really good TE in Goedert and he has Barkley in the backfield behind what is typically a good OL.

If he is the Hurts from 2022, they are going to score a crap ton of points and be tough to stop. If he's the Hurts from 2023, well, that's a different story. And of course, injuries could always derail things.

That tells me Commanders think he sucks. Whether it’s true or not I don’t I know.

I don’t even think it matters if the offensive line is still dominant they can get Hurts from last year and still be good. Unless Barkley gets hurt.

I absolutely hated to hear this. My wife worked with his mother. Been following him through his college career. But I absolutely cannot root for him now.

I knew he was in bad shape when he went to Washington. But if they just traded him to the Eagles, maybe he's not as good as I thought he was.
