The top 10 senior quarterbacks, according to NFL Draft Guru Justin Van Fulpen. Counting you down to the 2012 NFL Draft...
1. Nick Foles, Arizona – At 6’5” and 235 pounds, Foles has prototypical size and is an underrated athlete. As a junior the Wildcat signal caller completed 67 percent of his passes, but he needs to improve his decision making. More specifically, Foles has a tendency to force passes into coverage. He threw an interception in all but three games in 2010 and was picked off three times in the Alamo Bowl. He has some of the same physical tools as Missouri product Blaine Gabbert, who was the 10th overall choice in the 2011 NFL Draft.
2. Ryan Lindley, San Diego State – Lindley has all the physical tools – excellent size (6’4”/220 pounds) and the arm to make all the throws in the NFL. What has the pro scouts concerned is that he has yet to complete over 60 percent of his passes in any one season. Add to that the fact that over the past two seasons the Aztec has thrown 30 interceptions combined, and you can understand their wariness. Lindley did show improvement from his sophomore season to his junior season, and if he makes similar progress as a senior he could be a high riser.
3. G.J. Kinne, Tulsa – Kinne is a phenomenal athlete who led Tulsa in both passing and rushing as a sophomore and a junior. The Texas transfer is somewhat undersized at 6’2” but that doesn’t mean he lacks the skill set to be a NFL quarterback. Some will question the level of competition he has faced (Conference USA), but Kinne gets to open up this season against likely preseason No. 1 Oklahoma.
