Has been an usual off season for the Boys with two trades and the resigning. If we resign Hankins then things looking even better.

Draft is about 5 weeks away and should see Dallas a little active in the rest of free agency with mostly backup type guys. This draft is shaping up differently if we listen to the experts. Not a great draft this year especially with the IOL, WR, DT, QB, and LB areas. Listening to podcasts and NFL channel, they all seem to believe really only 11 players with true 1st round grades and only two of those are QBs and yet it appears that four QBs could go in the first 5 picks. Some even see Hooker and McKee going late 1st just so teams have the 4th year option with them sorta of like what Green Bay did with Jordan Love when he was drafted.

This may be the year Dallas trades out of the 1st round to a team wanting to grab a McKee or Hooker. With RB still being very undervalue, I see Robinson and Gibbs slipping a bit but Robinson definitely before 26 but could see Gibbs fall to the 2nd. Lots of teams did well drafting a RB on the 3rd day of the draft. DT is a weak class after Carter and even he may slip due to being overweight and character concerns. The TE class looks great with guys in every round worth a pick.

With the rest of free agency to play out, I could see Dallas signing a LG like Risner who frankly is the only one worth any money left. The longer we go in free agency the less the cost. We probably resign Fowler but my dream would be Frank Clark on the 3 year deal. I do think Schultz and Zeke end up in San Diego although we never know. Hell Zeke could even end up back in Dallas on a $3 to $5 million deal if Dallas doesn't sign anyone. Slim to no chance but then never believed we would make those two trades either.

Here goes what I would like to see in the draft.

26. Trade - Dallas trades with Seattle for #37, #52, #83, #120 for #26 and #58
37.Darnell Washington TE Georgia
52.Jahmyr Gibbs RB Alabama
83.Steve Avila OG TCU
90.Andre Carter Edge Army
120.Jaylon Jones CB Texas A&M
129.Jarret Patterson OC Notre Dame
176.Keondre Coburn DT Texas
212.Yasir Abdullah LB Louisville
246.Max Duggan QB TCU

Let the fun begin.

Hard NO on TE Washington until late 2nd or 3rd. He may have amazing athleticism and high ceiling but TE requires understanding of defense, routes, angles…subtle things that make a big difference in tight spaces.

No way Avila last to 3rd in this relatively weak G class.

Outside chance Gibbs last till 52. If so jump all over that.

I don't like it one bit, taking a TE and a TB with the first two picks.

But I feel like with the moves to get Gilmore and Cooks, this is just a speeding train towards taking a TB high again.

I am still looking OL at 26. Or maybe DT if they can get comfortable with someone like Kancey. This is a very deep TB draft. Get your TB in the middle rounds.

I don’t think Avilla, Gibbs, Patterson, or Coburn make it to where we will be picking. I would love to have this draft though

I would like to add 1 more weapon to our passing attack!
We need 3 more starters...so. we're not even close. I'd get a RB by round 4...and have an udfa rb competition for the last spot.

Grab two WRs and a TE.

Its going to be heavily offensive. Thankfully, aside from WR, which we are pretty strong at, the draft is strong at our positions of need.

And RBs and TEs can often play year one.

If you got Zay Flowers, he's probably ready to go year 1 too.

I don’t think they’re going to take a WR early. More likely Kincaid if he’s available.

I agree…here’s a scenario:

Kincaid in the 1st and Palmer in the 3rd

Flowers in the 1st and Schoonmaker in the 3rd

Am I a psycho for wanting to create the greatest show on turf part 2?

Remember they also have to fix their run game. Balance will be the key. However, adding another mismatch player will force teams to try to take away the pass and allow our runners to face light boxes

I love the idea of speed, speed, speed on offense.

All we have to do is resign Hankins and the run D will be fine. Played great down the stretch and into the playoffs.

Think we need 2 guys, rather have 2 veterans, but Hankins and a draftee would work.
