Draftwire Early Mock: Chris Olave, WR Ohio St

Please, no receivers in the first or second round. We need to rebuild the offensive line and sure up defensive tackle, linebacker and safety.

I almost think Gallup's injury may end up increasing his chances of returning.

Yep, he'll be cheaper and they'll cut Cooper to save cap space if they bring Gallup back.

I get the whole BPA thing but geez, with all the OL and DL issues we have (we have a DE problem as well), using another premium on a pick seems like a continuation of the last 10 years or so.

Imagine a 1,100 yard WR in his 2nd year is "average".
So you’re just going to ignore his subpar route running and drops because he had 1,000 yards?

There were 25 receivers who had at least 1,000 yards this year, that’s almost a one per team average.

Darnell Mooney
Brandin Cooks
Diontae Johnson

To name of few that got over 1,000 yards. None of which are considered above average.

Every guy you just listed is a very good football player.

No, I am going to see that CeeDee Lamb is a pretty good WR with exceptional talents that could work on his game.

Calling him average is just someone who has a bug up his butt about a particular player for some reason.

With a combined 0 appearances in the Pro Bowl.

You don't need to make a pro bowl to be an excellent player. In fact, receivers like Johnson, Cooks, and Mooney are very important to building a quality offense. 1000 yarders don't grow on trees, but they are not impossible to find either. I mean, I don't know how much more we could have expected out of our receivers this year with the way our QB was playing. Yeah they dropped some balls but Dak had a really hard time finding them.

Well, we only have three WRs under contract for this next year so they are gonna have to find more somewhere. I hope they find a way to keep Gallup or Wilson but, I know it is unlikely.
