Good stuff.

"We player against Zim a bunch, and there's never a week that I expended more mental energy in getting prepared for a defense than going up against a Mike Zimmer defense."

Then talks about how the presnap look of 2 LBs in the A gaps leads to all kinds of possibilities that the QB needs to account for.

No one has ever said that about DQ. Ever.
I was a DQ fan and defended him on the board. I feel foolish piping in and saying "YAY, Zim is awesome!!" without being a hypocrite.

The more i see though, the more I think I was simply wrong about him. He had some good concepts and was a good motivator but he was too simplistic and unable to adjust and that was an achilles heel for him that I didn't recognize.

That whole episode of Grudens show was decent. The problem with gruden is he never says a bad word about a player but it gives a nice overview of New Orleans and their coaching staff.

I am like you. I thought DQ was great until January every year. People forget that DQ had success with Gus Bradley’s defense in Seattle. Gus left to coach Jacksonville Before the won the Super Bowl. Pete Carroll probably did a lot for that defense too. So I am not sure DQ is the savant anyone makes him out to be. That being said I now feel like a hypocrite because I was ready to get rid of Zimmer many years ago and I am now glad he is back.

You’re not alone. He had the luxury of coming in after Nolan. He’s always been a fraud

Keep in mind Q is part of the Tampa 2 tree. So his defensive concept is mostly about creating turnovers. This is why Zimm has said we won't have as many turnovers from the past but won't give as many big plays. It appears Zimm's focus is on stopping the run and tons of pressure on QB.

But the clowns here told me how crap Zimmer was? I mean they ignored him having a top 10 defense like 7 of 10 years or whatever but cool.

Most of us were blinded by DQ and his defense. We all knew however that his concepts on stopping the run were nil and void. Turnovers and sacks covered up a lot of his glaring weaknesses in how he designed his defense. It was time DQ moved on and time we got the opposite of his coaching presence here in Dallas as Zim is more coach than friend kinda like Jimmy Johnson was as well.
