If available in the 4th, I would draft him.

6-3, 335
1.78 10-yard time
(For reference K. Benton 1.75)

Based on game footage he is the most powerful DT in this draft.

They only need 30 snaps per game from this type of player.

I would want to check into his mental makeup to verify that he'll maintain his combine weight.

He's a 2nd or 3rd rounder will not get to the 4th. If he was there in the 3rd at our pick you better run up the card as fast as you can

Back in 2016 DT Andrew Billings was projected as a 2nd round pick.
- He ended up as a 4th round pick.
- Since then it's become obvious that the modern NFL does not put a high value on "run plugger only" types.
- Vita Vea and Daron Payne are valued because they're 3 down DTs.

From what I've heard he has conditioning issues and struggled to make it through the combine drills.

Both McNeil and Travis Jones went in the 3rd rd

Draft scout list Ika with 1.78 but everywhere else I'm seeing including nfl.com claim 1.88

1.79 for Benton on nfl.com

I don't see it at all with Ika. Big guy, not super strong, not super quick, zero pass rush. Kind of a Bohanna type.

3rd for him would be rich IMO.

Ika is kind of unique in that he can play both run and pass very well, but you shouldn't play him more that 25 or so snaps a game. Type of a player who could be a difference maker if you are using him in a rotation. Id definitely take him at our 3rd rounder

Yeah I think pendulum has swung a little too far on Ika. The 1st round buzz early on was a bit crazy, but now that he’s seemingly fallen out of a lot of people’s top 100 I think that’s also a little too far. I think there’s a reasonable middle ground between those 2 where Ika belongs. I’d have no issues with him in the late 3rd

4th round? Somebody better tear a hamstring getting that card to the podium.

Why is Dalvin Tomlinson valued?

Tomlinson is valued as a high end 2 down player that offers little as a pass rusher, players like Vea/Payne are paid far more due to their pass rush abilities.

Dalvin Tomlinson has been stout against the run throughout his NFL career, and he’s picked up his production as a pass-rusher over the past few seasons, finishing 2022 with a career-best 79.1 pass-rushing grade that ranked eighth among interior defenders. Tomlinson is one of 10 interior defenders to record at least 60 defensive stops against the run over the last three seasons while also recording a pass-rush win rate of at least 10% in each season.

At the start of the process he was my top. Now after watching him more... he can't move. I wouldn't touch him with my 1st 3 picks as I think better players will be available.
