EDIT: Could a mod fix my title. It should have been Dual Core Processors, not processing.

Wow, the LG Star phone is BLAZING fast and even has a full HDMI out jack!

=============================================

LG Electronics' LG Star was first tipped two weeks ago by Engadget, which suggested it would be the first smartphone to run on Nvidia's Tegra 2 dual-core processor when it ships in early 2011. Based on dual ARM Cortex-A9 cores, the Tegra 2 is generally clocked to 1GHz. The Optimus-branded phone will offer an eight-megapixel camera, microSD expansion, and a 1500mAh battery, and support 1080p video recording, said Engadget.

I'm not sure, but with how fast mobile computing is advancing, the battery breakthrough made by Stamford University needs hurry up and make it's way into consumer batteries. They say it is far safer (from exploding), will support 80% more power density, and last four times longer than current batteries. They said it can allow devices to be powered up for more than an entire day on a single charge.

They are made for different platforms.

Snapdragon is ultra small for mobile devices.

Atom is small, but meant more for devices such as netbooks and home entertainment devices.

Agreed. One thing I do give Intel though, the newer Atoms being released have fantastic power consumption. They say you can get 8+ hours out of a Netbook. Though I freaking hate Netbooks. Weak piece of crap of a computer. It's like putting a lawnmower engine in your car and expecting to get on the highway with it. The CPU combined with the fact that they starve them of memory make them almost useless as an actual computer. Basically, check your email and logoff.

My wife bought my daughter one for Christmas last year and it would run out of memory trying to install her printer. (Canon ip6600D) Though I will say, I warned my wife not to get anything with less than 1GB of memory.
