I have to work late this evening at the office and will miss the game. So I was thinking of just recording it. I have a home DVR that I get from my cable company. I never use it. I don't watch that much TV. What I want to do is set the DVR to record the game.

I think I can figure out the recording part. What I would like to know is if this thing will record the show while the tv is turned off and the box is turned off.

Do I need to have the box turned on?

This stuff is tricky business and I don't want to **** up. Anyone?

It will record as long as it has power. The box doesn't have to be on. I would add time to the end of the recording just to make sure you get the whole game. If it says the game starts at 7 and ends at 10. It stops recording at 10 even if the game is going.

Excellent. Thanks for the information Yeag. I appreciate that.

Add time to the end of the recording program.

Got it!

Thanks again.

My wife always ask me why when I record a 3 hour game it always show up on the DVR as 4 hours. :laugh2:

Interesting. I thought the DVR had to be on for it to record versus just having it plugged in.

I usually leave the receiver on and the TV off.

Even when it's off, it's on.
