Dwight Howard's agent, Dan Fegan, tells SI that the Magic gave Howard permission to have contact with several teams to explore his options

Wow something big could be going down in the next few hours. My guess is those 3 teams are the Nets and the two L.A. teams.

Sad that he's going to end up in New Jersey, what a ****hole

:laugh2:

Orlando isn't trading him there. All they have to offer is Lopez and a couple of picks. Lakers can offer Bynum, Odom, and Gasol.

Howard has a veto option in his contract, he can reject any trade he wants. If they don't trade him to the Nets he'll just walk and sign with them anyway.

He's going to be a Net one way or another, he's made that pretty clear.

And if the Lakers traded Bynum, Gasol AND Odom for Howard I don't really see how they get any better. They instantly become one of the the smallest teams in the NBA with no depth whatsoever.

What are you talking about? He's never actually come out and said he wants to be a Net. All he wants is the Lakers to up their offer which they will. I don't think it will take all 3 it'll take Bynum and Odom. Then we trade Gasol and get CP3.

He's been asking to be traded to the Nets privately for a year now and publically over the last few days.

He has an infatuation with taking that particular franchise on his back. Not to mention that no team in basketball would be less affcted by a luxury tax than the Nets. They've got an owner worth more than the total annual GDP of 90% of the countries on Earth.

Conflicting reports on this report as well. The NBA is a beautiful mess.

He doesn't like shaq, doesn't like the comparisons, and wants to be the face of the franchise. Him and Dwill have been talking about it. Its really the nastiest 1-2 in the league and they're 26 and 27. It's the Nets. They have the better offer(and are using more assets in the new cp3 trade)and there's too much heat on the Lakers right now anyway.

Not all that surprising:

ESPNSteinLine Marc Stein
RT @sam_amick: Orlando PR man Joel Glass calls to say D. Howard's agent now has permission to speak w/Lakers/Nets/Mavs about possible trade

Uh oh... Get it done Cuban!!!!

Don't get your hopes up. Mavs have nothing to offer. Cuban is such a hypocrite he was *****ing about the CP3 trade and now I'm sure he's fine with a potential Howard to Dallas deal.

Dan Gilbert is the guy you need to be mad at.

ESPN says Howard has interest in the following teams:
Lakers
Mavericks
Clippers
Nets

But suppossedly he has permission to talk to 3 of them.

It also says that the Nets' offer of Lopez and two 1st rounders is not quite enough. I also heard the Nets may absorb Turkelu's contract, so that also has value.

I know Orlando native Vince Carter is a buddy of Howards. I wonder if Cuban picked him up with more in mind than just giving the Mavs a good 15 minutes a night? I don't see how Howard could go to Dallas, honestly, unless it was next year. Brandon Haywood, Shawn Marrion and Roddy B and a 1st round pick would still not be enough.

Cuban and Donnie built the deepest team in the NBA with a bunch of spare parts.

If it's possible to do they are the guys who can pull it off.

Show me were Cuban was whining about the CP3 trade.
I'd be curious to see your source.

I know the Cleveland guy was ticked off, but that deal could actually help both Dallas and San Antonio.
The main beef was the crazy amount of cap room that it wouild allow the Lakers to free up while still getting the best player in the deal.

100% true. He said something along the lines of cp3 being more valuable in NO.

Funny sounds like Dallas will have a max slot available next year. If they strike out on Derron then they sign CP3. Bunch of BS.
