No one has mentioned him. I wonder what he will bring to the table. Maybe not much, but we saw something with him to draft him

I remember when he was drafted he could play center and I think guard. So if he's recovered from his knee injury he could be Al Johnson's replacement.

dont know about any of u but this depth dallas has @ OL is a walking disaster waiting to happen. they need to bring in some cheap established vets

Actually one of the reasons we drafted him was because he could play all 5 OL positions; I think he was also offensive captain of his team. Parcells told him however that he would be planning only center and OG positions. So I think Parcells saw Whitely as Gurode's backup cause Parcells believed if Gurode could get his head in the game he'd be our starting center and not Johnson, thus making Johnson expendable after 06 season.

Since Whitely got hurd first week in June, he should be fully recovered from his knee injury and able to fully participate in the team's offseason weight conditioning program. Since he missed all of last year, his lack of NFL experience will probably make it difficult for him to compete against the 2-3 players we signed off the PSs of 2 other teams. Hopefully he can at least show enough to be kept around for our own PS.

I thought he was waived while injured? How does all of that work? I know that he automatically reverts back to Dallas when no one claims him, but does that not indicate that Dallas was done with him?

I loved his phone conversation with Jerry and Bill after he was drafted!

I thought that was Montavious Stanley?

Whitley is a good, versatile O-Lineman and was a good value in the 7th, hopefully he can return %100 from his injury because I think he can help our depth and contribute. Of course coming from TTech he is a much more polished pass blocker than run blocker.
