- Allowing us to get Anthony Spencer. Even the announcers said this would be their undoing, and that they would regret it for years to come. Spencer and Ware.... I'm so sorry...

- Throwing McNabb under the bus. If this loss convinces the Eagles to get rid of McNabb, it will be even that much more of a huge game. McNabb is the best player they have. Without him, they're going to be just like the Commanders. The funniest part is that they don't even realize it yet.

Funny, there was a news article right after the draft mentioning how fans will be sick down the road seeing Spencer take down McAir-Guitar......I agree, had a long debate with friends (all eagle fans) about MCNabb, they want him gone, saying its time to change, Kolbs time. I love that idea, for me getting McNabb out of town, makes the birds a 8-8 squad at best.....we shall see!!

i think kolb has the skills to lead this batch of receivers. if the eagles can pick up and solid RB in the draft or free agency, and somebody to replace their obvious safety problems since the loss of dawkins they will be a force to reckon wiith next year. just my opinon.

If they get rid of McFlabb they'll be even worse... :muttley:

Don't think they'll get rid of him unless the "young guns" start complaining. Didn't they just extend him anyways?

I think Philly's wedged between a rock and a hard place right now with McNabb. On one hand, I agree, I think McNabb is their best player. He's a great deep-ball thrower and his escapability makes their line look better than it is.

On the other hand, this is a passing league now, and 6 of the 8 teams remaining are still around in large part because of their dynamic quarterbacks. Baltimore and New York are the exceptions. McNabb is a much better player than he is a passer. His inaccuracy is alarming and it holds that team back. He can't go toe to toe against a guy like Romo.

As someone pointed out earlier, McNabb dominated the NFC in a decade where the quarterbacks were pretty bad. Favre was on the downslide for a while, Warner dominated early and then went away, but there weren't a lot of other great ones. Now that the NFC is littered with top-flight QBs -- Brees, an old Favre, Romo, Rodgers, an old Warner -- McNabb is left in the dust a little bit.

The dillemma, though, is that I think it's easy to say, "We need a better passer," but it will be hard to find a guy as good a McNabb, much less decidedly better. Maybe Kolb is that guy. But if he's not? Philly will go from one of the best teams annually to, as you said, the Washingon Commanders.

The Eagles need bigger DL, a safety, and some LBs. They need their center back and better depth along the OL.

They don't need anymore skill players although if a playmaker is there you always grab him regardless of needs.

I hope they get rid of McNabb even if he can lay an egg here and there. That immediately makes them less dangerous.

No, Ncnabb has next season left on his contract and that's it. They are saying they need to get something for him in the draft.

Andy Reid just got a 3 year extension.

Didn't know that, thanks.

Outstanding talking point.

2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009 man those fans are going to realize how much they will miss him when he is gone.

It's hard to judge Kolb because he has hardly played yet and of the two games he played this year he put up okay numbers but it was against bad defenses in NO and KC. He threw for lots of yards against NO but they got beat badly so it may have been against lots of soft coverages. He also threw 3 INTs. Against the Chiefs he put up good numbers against a bad defense. He fumbled twice in a relief appearance against the Panthers.

He looks like he could be an okay player but is far from the second-coming.

My guess is that he would be a big downgrade from McNabb in the end. Donovan was a #2 overall pick who has lots of skins on the wall, 5 NFC championship game appearances, 1 Super Bowl loss, multiple beatings administered to our team. He is still a very good QB overall and had this team playing well. Some people thought Philly and SD were the two best teams in the league until we spanked them in week 17.

I thought Kolb played better than McNabb when he started for an injured McNabb. Kolb went for 64% he did have 4td to 3 picks but some of that will be learning curve from being a 1st time starter. Kolb is more mobile than you think but then I saw some of his games on TV in college he is not Mcnabb but he is not dead in the water when a pass rush comes at him

McNabb has very good "escapability" though. He is hard to bring down. I don't know if Kolb has that.

When teams start to scout Kolb he'll be a very average QB. I like Matt Moore in Carolina much better.

If history has taught the Eagles anything its that the backups quarterbacks usually come in and run the offense BETTER than McNabb.
