Guess when an elephant is eating he doesn't want to be bothered.

He's lucky that's all it did. Could of trampled him to death in a heartbeat.

That's the equivalent of an elephant pimp smack.

If something is that big, that strong, and that unpredictable, don't mess with it. Common sense should not be that lost around an animal that size.

But I guarantee if the guy had went up to the elephant and just began petting it, the elephant would not have cared. But when the elephant got the idea that the guy was messing with him, which the guy was, he put the guy on his butt. Deservedly, I might add.

What a moron. I'm glad the elephant smacked his butt. ha ha. When will some humans learn and grow some intelligence?? Stupid is as Stupid does.

This calls for the song that goes, "oops...up-side the head, I say oops upside the head..." ha ha

Why thank you, Sam. :) It does feel good to be able to post, instead of just read and wish I could post. I feel like I know you all so well. I'm a stranger to yall, but yall have been a part of my days for years.:)

Sounds kind of stalkerish, now that I think about it.

As the guy was picking and rearranging the branches in front of the elephant and trying to feed it, you can almost hear the elephant saying, "Yeah Ok, thanks. Ok, thank you. Dude I got this. Leave it alone, I can get to it. Go away and let me eat. DUDE......son of a *****."

yea, i don't think he was intentionally trying to provoke the elephant, just hand feed it. bringing something new was cool, picking up what the elephant had in front of him was just stupid.

when i was about 9 years old i learned to not walk behind a horse eating. it was about 30 seconds before i could breathe again. :) freaked my brothers out.

I think I was about the same age when i was feeding grains to a Ram out of my hands. I was standing directly in front of it and was bent slightly at the waist, eye level, so i can see its mouth closely. I was standing maybe less than a couple of feet away. The Ram finished the grains out of my hands and looked up at me and I kept staring at it because of it had a strange eye color. As i continued to watch it, the Ram slowly pulled its head back, it's front feet came off the ground and then quickly came down and squarely head butted me. I was out cold for sometime until somebody found me.

My stepsister learned that lesson as well except she lost half of her teeth.

My rule is if the animal is bigger than you or has a nasty temper, be weary of it, don't do anything that could provoke it, and definitely don't stand behind or in front of it.

He is lucky it wasn't a lot worse, Elephants can be extremely dangerous in the wild.
