The owner of the Pittsburgh Power fired all 24 members of his team during a pregame meal at an Orlando-area Olive Garden.
With AFL players set to strike before the 2012 season opener, owner Matt Shaner reacted first, cutting his entire team hours before kickoff of a game against the Orlando Predators.

Wow.

Now I realise that doesn't mean anything to the folks who aren't really Arena fans but isn't that kind of piss poor for the fans who are expecting to see a game that night? Just seems like they screwed the fans of their league with that BS.

Fold the league. That's absolutely embarrassing, more for the owner and league than the players released.

And they end up winning the game with replacement players and players that chose to leave the union. Haha. I like the Arena league but for the players to have a union is ridiculous. Most teams struggle to make a profit. Sub-par players should not demand more, their value isnt that large.

Some of the comments to the story are priceless...

"I thought when you were at the Olive Garden you were family."

"We should take Congress out to eat there........"

"Talk about a last supper!"

"If my boss wants to take me to Olive Garden....I aint going!"

And there were a few more.
