Funny thing is Tech screwed itself in the process. Either A) by not doing full due diligence into the matter, or B) yt thinking they were protecting themselves by canning Leach so Tech didn't get a backlash from ESPN.

I honestly don't even remember the situation other than the kid locked in some chicken coop or something.

Did they ever determine it happened as depicted?

I vaguely recall some migraine excuse or something like that but obviously there was more behind it if they actually canned the guy for it.

Not sure the dad being outed as a tool will change the perception of Leech.

Why answer the phone? James is a tool for calling, but it isn't as if you should be answering phone calls during the game if you are a coach.

The only thing I can figure is he somehow got the numbers to the coach boxes. They probably assumed it was someone connected to the team or university.

You see coaches in the boxes on phones during games. Sometimes they are talking to a player on the sidelines. Sometimes it is coaches on the sidelines talking to coaches in the box. Sometimes it might be university presidents or ADs calling in for some issue....who knows. But I know that there have been many games I have seen where the camera flashes up to the coaches box and you see a guy or two talking on the phone.
