Doubt they do this for a S.

24. Dallas Cowboys

Cowboys get: 1-14
Ravens get: 1-24, 2-56, 5-176

Jerry Jones said he could trade up in this draft, so while he could be bluffing, let's take the Cowboys owner at face value. Dallas could add a wide receiver to replace Amari Cooper, a defensive tackle or help in the secondary. I wonder if the Cowboys would try to trade up for Kyle Hamilton if the Notre Dame safety falls, although I'm not sure he would fall enough for Dallas to make that move without giving up an exorbitant amount of draft capital.

We've seen star safeties fall further than expected, though, like when Derwin Jamesdropped all the way to No. 17 for the Chargers in 2018. If Hamilton gets to No. 14 this year, the Cowboys could sneak ahead of the Eagles and Saints and pounce for one of the draft's most intriguing players. They brought back Jayron Kearse and Malik Hooker, but Hamilton would be a long-term building block and a solution for slowing down mobile quarterbacks. The Ravens could add front-seven help even after moving down.

Yeah, I don't think they'd move up for a S. Or a DT. We've seen how they value those positions. They'd move up for a CB or OT or possibly WR as they clearly think they have more value to a franchise than other positions.

No way in hell I do this.......giving up 56. I might, that's a big might, consider 2023 2nd. I'll need 56 and 88 for DE and OL ......

Hence the beauty of sitting on your butt in FA. If they had gone out and gotten a competent LG in FA and brought in say a Smith at DE, guess what? You have more flexibility in the draft to move around if a player falls like a Hamilton or a Wyatt or one of the higher rated OL.

But as you said, when you do little to nothing in FA to improve the roster, you don't have the luxury of steamrolling through your prime picks to just move around for one player. Frankly, they should look to move down and stockpile a few more prime round picks.

Agree completely! They not only don’t value S but I’m sure they think the guys they signed/kept are sufficient.

With Quinn either could be possible. He played a S intensive scheme last year, so it wouldn't shock me to see us targeting one. With DT's, he is known for moving them around the line, I wouldn’t rule our Davis if he falls. S, I don't think this is the year though, they havent shown any interest in anyone

Keep in mind Hamilton is THE top-rated S in the draft......... which carries quite of bit weight with Jerry and Stephen. So I can def them going up if he gets within range.

I don’t think they take a DT or S in the 1st period, let alone trade up.

Johnson was the last to take a DT and Parcells the last to take a S.

When I see this kind of nonsense, I'm suddenly reminded of Chris Farley's line from TommyBoy, Please go away, let me sleep, for the love of God!

I don't think they do.

They have 4 safeties already on the roster. 3 of which have proven they can play at this level [Hooker, Kearse, Wilson] and one with a solid upside [Izzy]. I'm not moving up for Hamilton

They are only taking Hamilton if he falls to 24, which is extremely unlikely.

i will bet the cowboys dont even draft a single safety with the 9 picks we have.

Considering that we just signed Kearse long term and are said to be high on Mukuamu's potential, I'm doubtful that we will. I think the Hooker signing was because he's cheap and we want a veteran FS presence. Donovan Wilson provides solid safety depth for the rotation and we can give Mukuamu one more year to show that he belongs before addressing the position next year (with Wilson likely leaving in free agency).
