Gary Plummer of 49ers.com says he thinks cornerback Nate Clements should match up with Terrell Owens in an effort to prevent the Cowboys' receiver from getting off the line of scrimmage.
John Crumpacker of the San Francisco Chronicle says 49ers coach Mike Singletary might be willing to risk continuity on the offensive line by starting rookie Chilo Rachal at right guard.
Also from Crumpacker: Mike Martz wasn't the only member of the 49ers facing a fine stemming from the Arizona game. Linebacker Jeff Ulbrich incurred a $5,000 fine for a punch to the face.
Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee says Martz is excited about progress the team is making on offense as players grasp the system.
