Whoa. I'm impressed, Hoof. I didn't peg you for someone that knew anything about skateboarding.

Yes, it was. I must have watched that video 250 times.

I'm not a skateboard fan, but even I was greatly impressed by his riding on the flat edge of his board and skimming the length of the table using only the bare front of his board (in Hoofbite's posted video).

Easily the most impressive skateboarding I've ever seen. I didn't even know it had progressed into that.

These tricks aren't the norm. Rodney Mullen invented most of these tricks himself. What skateboarding has evolved to is little 12-year old kids doing doing kick-flips down 12-stairs the OPPOSITE way they normally ride the board.

Oh okay. lol

I haven't watching any of this in years. I used to watch the other kind of skating. Loved Chris Edwards and Arlo Eisenberg.

I was always a fan of the big gaps and rails because of the balls it took to try that stuff but Mullen is a technician and nobody has been able come close to what he has done. He is the Tony Hawk of street skating.

When I see kids do switch kick flip bs lipslides down rails I want to punch them in the face.

I remember watching Mullen in the 80s when I used to ride. He was known for his "freestyle". Many were doing ramps and pools. The street style started to get popular in the mid 80s where many were combining ramp skills and freestyle.

I was never all that good but for a good number of years I was busting my *** just about every day after school.

He also did the freestyle scene in Gleaming the Cube...in the parking garage.
