Everyone one saying Payton was overrated ,He went in cleaned house took a major salary cap hit with Wilson ! Look what they are doing with a rookie QB now !

Shoot, I thought you were talking about Paintin Manning. You are correct in your observation. It's a shame that type of magic doesn't happen in Dallas.

He had Drew Brees for 15 years, and theyve won one Superbowl. Payton and McCarthy coaching careers are pretty similar

well they were cheated out of a shot at another one by the refs but yeah he had a HOF QB for that long and only got one Ring
so its arguable

Am I the only one who believes that a good football coach has to be on the SAME page with the GM and owner?

One variable that can't be eliminated is ownership when it comes to management style, and Jerry isn't the guy when it comes to management "style" (is Stephen?).

A good coach sooner or later is going to get more press then the ownership of the cowboys, and that's going to cause a lot of friction IMO.

When we hired McCarthy, their resumes were eerily similar. Especially considering Brees and Rodgers is almost a wash. Rodgers is probably better, but not by enough to make a real difference in McCarthy or Paytons career

Except Payton drafted a rookie QB and headed to the playoffs while MM floundering with a vet QB .

This narrative is so old. They took the lead on that drive and their defense allowed the Rams to drive down the tie it. They also won the toss in OT but Brees as usual, chokes and turned the ball over and allowed the Rams to win the game.

Oh, they also built a 13-0 1st qtr lead and looked like they would steamroll the Rams. Only scored 10 more points the entire game.

To simply just blame the refs is hiding from the fact that Brees and the Saints choked as usual. I believe it was just the year before, they allowed the Vikings to win the game on the Diggs Hail mary reception.

Drew Brees was a regular season warrior. When it came to playoffs, those easy completions weren't there and his offense struggled.

as someone who actually watched the game, I call BS on this
it was a horrendous call and hugely affected this game
to try and claim it meant nothing because of previous years is just plain DUMB
If you are a real Cowboys fan you would know for years we were known as Next Years Champion because we kept finding ways to blow games or lose it in weird ways
