i feel the same way like a lot of folks here esp with passing on manningham. the tashard choice pick doesn't make a lot of sense either unless jerry's using it as leverage for MBIII's upcoming contract talks.

but we did get a 3rd and 4th next year which i think jerry will use to trade up in the first round to get the impact WR that we so desperately need. most teams agree that the WRs from this year all had question marks and that no one was a sure fire star. the only curveball that i think he didn't count on was WAS selecting malcolm kelly. whatever...we at least have the CBs to shut these receivers down.

let's just hope stanback is ready to play. otherwise, it might be another one and done for us come playoff time.

Yea because the two teams in the NFC championship game had such great wr's.

Choice was a BPA pick who fills a need as we need 3 RBs on the roster.

If you can find a quality player to make your roster in the late 4th you've done okay. The vast majority never end up starting.

Lets see next year sign Roy Williams in FA and draft Crabtree in the 1st with a move up. I could definitely live with that.

Who will be the great WR's available next year?

Are we really talking about next years draft? Is there a prospect that you're excited about? What about this year?

I hear we got the Lions 4th, did we get Cleveland's 3rd as well? I missed part of it this morning.

So as it stands, we have the following:

1 #1
1 #2
2 #3 (ours + Browns)
2 #4 (ours + Lions)
1 #5
2 #6 (ours + Dolphins)
1 #7

10 picks not including the comp picks we should receive. Good start for draft 2009.

Killing you?? LOL Just summing up the trades that Jerry has put together this offseason. Pretty good to go with a very good draft for 2008.

so if jerrah goes to detroit and offers a 1, 2nd and 3rd, in next years draft for RW they still pass?

Next year is just too far away to think about. Let's worry about this year.

agreed. but it's also important to keep one eye on the future. if it wasn't for that, we wouldn't have had the extra 1st round pick this year.

barring injury, i think we still have the pieces to go all the way to the SB. what killed us in the playoffs last year imho was the lack of depth in the secondary and the running game. with this year's draft and (hopefully) pacman, i think we addressed those trouble spots.

i'm just as nervous about our WR situation but maybe jerry has a plan. not sure who's available in the later rounds this year, but there might be some projects that they boys have their eye on.
