I thought the Cowboys might draft a kicker towards the end of the draft or sign one as an UDFA. I recently read where Jerry said a veteran kicker was wanted. Anybody think a McCarthy/Crosby reunion could be around the corner?

There is an article on DC.com that brings up this question.
Basically said since the 2 K's they were looking at were drafted before they projected them. They will go a different route. And sounded like a vet K will be it. But he would not answer when ask if Maher was a consideration.

He will be 39 by the season opener. I thought he was older! Seems like he has been around forever.

If they don't want to go the Robbie Gould route I think Maher is absolutely on the table.

I'm not sure you'll see Crosby. Still a solid FG guy, but only 20% touchbacks on kickoffs a year ago. In todays NFL you really should be at 50% or higher TB%, for reference Maher was close to 80% a year ago.

He's one of the few remaining players in the NFL that's started a NFL game at Texas Stadium.

That alone should tell your how old he is, the number of players that have started a game in Texas Stadium that could possibly start today is probably 5 or less (Rodgers and maybe a few veteran kickers/punters)

Should we really panic over Maher? He has a great season sans the TB game. We all know lockers are streaky and I’m for bringing in a few to compete but I’m not going to panic as we’ll be fine.
I think when the nfl cracked down on the assists objects it got in his head. I’d bring him back to camp with some competition but I think it was all mental

A blade of grass shouldn’t effect you that much

I dont' watch GB play much but maybe the times I did were just his bad games....I've seen him miss some key kicks...not against Dallas of course but what game was that where no team wanted to win? Was it the Bengals? Just missed kicks back to back to back.

Most likely between Crosby/Gould/Folk sometime soon.
