1. Who cares if another fan loves or dislikes Dak (or another player) as QB (or other position) of the Cowboys? Every fan wants ultimate success for the team-SB win.
2. There is no profession in fandom. Quit taking your fandom and anyone else’s so seriously. It’s pretentious and absurd.
3. Don’t get too emotionally attached to players for the team. It’s a rugged sport and careers can be fleeting.
4. Other people will continue to hold an opinion no matter how well you argue your case. It could be pride, ignorance, or spite. Accept that reality and realize repetitive posts to the same individuals will yield the exact same results.
5. Some fans are results oriented. Some fans are emotionally needy oriented. Some fans are more excited by bigger games with higher stakes. Some fans are just as excited by the fact that there continue to be seasons featuring their favorite team-no matter the game or stakes.
I view the upcoming season with very mild interest because of the current trajectory of the current starting QB and head coach-when looking at the macro-view of the past seasons, the current surrounding cast-and off-season moves. Lots of core players on expiring contracts and contracts that can be dropped easily after the season. Lots of coaching changes and one year contracts. Not much spending on outside or inside free agents. Any upcoming extensions will not help land outside free agents for this season-though they could potentially trade for someone.
The upcoming season seems like “Groundhog Day,” with a slightly downward trend. I’m more interested in games versus Baltimore and San Francisco than other games because of the tier of those teams-and what the matchup might signal with regards to potential playoff exploits. I’ve been wasting time trying to go back to sleep-g’nite y’all.
