I don't get that rule, didn't Roy Williams do the same thing to Todd Heap and it didn't get called? So if an offensive player lowers his head it is automatically a foul? Isn't your head and neck attached to your shoulders? The guy turned his body sideways to prevent helmet to helmet, I don't understand how else someone is supposed to hit him. please explain the rule.

Ward lowered the shoulder into Shipley head it is pretty easy to see, Even the Cleveland sport writers acknowledge he should be fined for the hit.

You can't go shoulder to helmet either. You can't go after a defenseless receivers head at all this year, and they made a point of making that known in the off season.

Going back at the 8 sec mark you can see Ward lower the shoulder and head and make contact with his helmet. However even is that was not the case the rule do not allow you to go after a guys head like that and clearly Ward knew what he was doing

Didn't they basically call it a hit on a defenseless receiver? That was a topic I heard on the way in Monday on NFL radio. Cheap shot will get hime a nice fine in the mail
