that's bs....we draft who we want to draft...Newman had a "shoulder situation"...people "shied away from him"....we wanted him we drafted him.

He was the fifth pick in the draft behind Palmer, Charles Rodgers, Andre Johnson and a DT from Kentucky or somewhere. Who exactly shied away from him?

going into the draft there were rumors about his shoulder that led many to suggest he would slip...my point is it did not bother us then..my point is we draft who we want to draft....we should just come out and say Parcells thought he had something in Columbo and McQuistan...therefore we did not draft an OL until the 7th round

The fact we did not draft one until the end is all the proof we need that this organization felt the OL was not nearly the problem a LOT of us feel it is

Newman's shoulder was a MINOR thing compared to McNeal. And the boys did not think a lot of the linemen in last years draft clearly. BUT then again how many of them have really shown anything. McNeal does not count, Mangold at center was not a consideration for us; Colledge we did target but got picked before he came up for us; who else really played this year?

The kid could be a key offensive threat if we used him... he has shown playmaking ability
