A newborn boy's father has been arrested after the baby was hospitalized in critical condition with a fractured skull and legs.
Matthew Taylor Mays, 20, was arrested Monday and charged with intentionally causing injury to a child, a third-degree felony. Bail was set at $75,000.
Police said the baby, who was born July 25, was admitted to Methodist Children's Hospital on Thursday with swelling to his head.

Hospital staffers told police the infant appeared to have been swung around or yanked.

The baby's mother said Mays told conflicting stories about how the child had been injured, first saying the baby fell from a bed and later saying he dropped the child on the kitchen floor as he made a bottle.

This actually happened in San Antonio.

For some reason, I don't believe this was an accident. Fell off the bed or dropped while making a bottle, yea right.

Sounds like she was just scared of telling the truth because she though he'd hit her too. This guy is an absolute disgrace of a father. I hope he rots in hell.

It's actually a fear i have about having a child. I have been pretty clumbsy and afraid I'll drop it.

I would actually need five.

One to the middle of his dominate hand, .. no medical treatment.
Each day for a month go in and threaten to do it to his other hand, ... then do it.

Same thing for a few months with his foot, ... then do it.

Same thing for a few months with his other foot, ... then do it.

About six months later, use the one above for what you planned it for.

Well the court will make the decision if believable or not I guess.

Hell first time I held mine in the delivery room, I was certain I was going to drop him.

It is real scary and I learned early on to never, ever make a bottle while holding a baby. I just put her in the crib if momma wasn't home.

the fact that you are scared it might happen means you will take care it does not

nothing in the world like kids

people who hurt children are scum of the earth IMO and i subscribe to JBond's methods

:( I love babies. Why do these monsters have to hurt them? I think you would have to be pure evil.

A physician can tell if the injury is consistent with an inflicted injury or an injury from a fall.
