Hey fellow zoners (who gamble at casinos).

Just wondering what your favorite game is?

My personal favorite is craps. Love the excitement of the game and it is easy enough to follow. There are a lot of people who think it is too complicated so they stay away, making it easier to find an open spot at the table. Gotta say that I like blackjack too. It is easier to find a $5 blackjack table once the craps tables have gone to $10. Can't stand slots, except when one needs to sit for a little bit.

No doubt about it Craps and enjoy blackjack as well. I have done very well playing both of those games. As for slots don't play them often but I did win 500 bucks on a dollar bet. Bad night at the table was heading up to my room with 1 single buck left and hit 500 bucks on 1 spin.

I love Poker and Blackjack, though I'm not gambler. I play for fun with friends. We usually have a like a $10 buy in just to at least half way keep people honest. I love Roulette too, but I never play it unless it's a video game since that is a game you generally have to gamble to play since I don't own a Roulette wheel.

I prefer to strictly play poker since the odds are in my favor, but blackjack is fun only if you have a group of friends sitting at the same table.

Penny slot machines.....I'm a cheap bastid :laugh2:

Those penny slots are way too complicated to understand, too many tiles on the screen. Who knew that a monkey caddy-corned to a ruby, above a tiger head, beside water wave, below a pile of coins would win me $0.03

Penny slots can get expensive too, when you have to buy 25 lines to have a realistic shot of making any of your money back.

Craps all the way. http://www.crapsage.com

All they cost me was $9.99 at WalMart :laugh2:

Poker. Now and then I will play craps or blackjack, but not often. Keno is okay to play while eating at a casino.

I prefer the sports book wagers usually. I'd much rather bet on football than anything else.

Try craps. In the afternoon, you can easily find a $5 table on the strip. At the Sahara (on the end of the strip) as well as downtown you can find a $3 easy. At night, most of the strip tables will be $10. Great game and quick to pick up.

Craps has the best bet in the Casino. When you bet the odds on the point (behind the pass line) the casino will pay out the true odds of that number. It is the only bet in which the house has zero edge.

Other than that, it is just an exciting game all around. Find a table with 8-12 people on it, and it can be really fun. There are certainly some sucker bets in the game of craps, but there are many conservative bets as well. You do not have to bet more than the table minimum at any given time so you can spend a lot of time at a table and get some drinks. Shooting the dice is fun to, everybody is cheering you on and having your back.

is this just betting that the roller will roll 7 or 11 before crapping out?

I am deadly on Blackjack - always walk out a couple hundred

one night I turned $60 into a $1000

Not exactly. When you get to a table, you will see a hockey puck looking thing next to the dealer. When this puck is on the side that says "OFF", then you want the shooter to roll a 7 or 11. If he hits a 7 or 11, you will get paid whatever you bet on the pass line. If you bet $5, you get $5. When the puck is "OFF" and the shooter rolls a 2,3, or 12, you lose the money on the pass line. Anything else, then the dealer will put the puck to the "ON" position.

When the puck is "ON", then the only number you do not want is a 7. When a 7 is rolled, all money is taken off of the table. 11, 2, 3, and 12 are safe when the puck is "ON". The number that the puck is ON is referred to as the POINT. You want shooter to roll whatever the POINT is.

Betting odds is means you are making a bet additional to the pass line bet by placing extra chips behind the pass line (not marked). Each number has a specific odds of being rolled. By betting the odds, you are betting on the odds that the POINT is rolled. The casino will pay whatever the true odds of the point are. This is what I mean when I say the house has no edge on the odds bet. Every other bet, the house will pay less than the true odds giving them the edge on every bet.

Craps is my favorite game hands down. Have been playing a little bit of Hold Em as well on the last couple of trips to Vegas.

I got lucky I was up and about at 3 in the morning in Lake Tahoe and the guy working the crap table and I started talking and he took the time to teach me about the game the following night I went to the table and fell in love with the game not to mention I made over 1,500 dollars on the table.
