THEM was about giant ants so I guess it does not count. Saw it as a kid in the early 60's on a late night Creature Feature and it gave me nightmares for a while.

Food of the Gods was about giant animals too, but the OP included it, so I think you're safe.

Willard (1971)

Ben (1972)

Willard (original) and Ben (sequel) are both underrated horror films, although I consider Ben more of a thriller than horror movie in my opinion. A young twenty-something Bruce Davison starred as Willard. I believe it was the first movie that cemented his unassuming, suburban menacing-type persona that followed him throughout his career.

"What if human could forge an unbreakable bond with rats?" That was the movies' premise and I believe were well-done. Movies with fictional yet "plausible" psychological plots are the ones I label as horror.

Trivia: Michael Jackson performs the theme song for Ben. It was nominated for Best Original Song.

i actually think more of Michael Jacksons " Ben " song ..than i do the actual movie itself .. :D

what i liked about the remake of Willard (2003) was actor and former real life military sargent Ronald Lee Ermey. RIP.

Ronald Lee Ermey was the mean, obnoxious boss who bullied Wlliard ..but of course eventually met his demise at the paws of Ben friends.
i always loved Ronald Lee Ermey when he plays these kind of meannie roles.

How about one of the worst

1972's Frogs.

I think snakes and other swamp creatures were the killers.
Until the end part, It seemed all the frogs did was get a little screen time in what looked like throw away b footage and you would hear the loud sound of them playing in the background.
In the end they showed up at the mansion and was all inside the place.

Really bad movie.

Oddly enough I think it had a younger Sam Elliott in it IIRC

The night of the Grizzly
Into the Grizzly Maze
SSSSSS not sure if that qualifies and it would probably suck if I watched it today...but that was creepy back in the day.

i think i saw SSSSSSSSS when i was a kid, but it was so very long ago, and i wasn't impressed with the rest , despite being a horror movie,
and back then it was Nuthin like the flooding of flicks we're able to see from everywhere, ... but i believe the mongoose scene is all i remembered. :D

i laughed far even more today, when i think of that movie, because what kind of film title is .... " SSSSSSSSS " ? .......lol

I believe Ray Milland was in that and he won an Oscar for "The Lost Weekend".
