Not...so...Anonymous...anymore...

These kids think they are way too smart and can't be caught. Idiots....

=========================================

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has arrested people alleged to be involved with hactivist collective Anonymous, a bureau source confirmed today. "There are a number of searches and arrests taking place in a number of locations," the source said. A tweet from Michael van Poppel at Breaking News said Fox News was reporting "more than a dozen" arrests. The bureau has said an announcement will come out later today, detailing a multi-city operation that involved searches, interviews, and arrests. In New York, bureau spokeswoman Adrienne Senatore reiterated that no arrests had taken place during this morning's raids in Long Island and Brooklyn. Senatore also said the bureau had possibly interviewed somebody in the Bronx, though she said no search was carried out there, contrary to a report by CBS earlier today.

Probably turn out to be FBI agents in a few years.

Depends on how easily they were caught.

That group has some legit hackers...but they probably have far more wannabes who don't know as much as they think they do.

Either way I love it. I hope they catch more and more and I hope they fine and penalize the piss out of these kids. Hackers are some of the most pathetic people on Earth so this cracks me up.

I love it.

Most of the best hackers in the world are not from the united states unfortunately. This has less to do with skill and more to do with risks. A russian hacker living in a rural region who avoids targeting russian sites and servers will have a lot less chance of getting caught than someone sitting in their basement doing it in this country.

Then again, there are stupid people :D

That's what I was thinking. The people caught right now are the low men on the totem pole.

I could think of a few other groups I'd rank a little worse.........

This is why they should be given the option of either working for the government or go to jail. Like it or not we are far behind other countries such as China in these areas. Things are too digital to not try to recruit these guys, in a way it is almost an arms race in that we should have a strong enough attack ability that it can help to deter attacks from hackers. Further, these hackers can be used as "red teams" in training exercises to improve system and network defenses and detection skills.

How long before the official announcement of the "War On Cyber Crime", which will be a monumental waste of time and resources?
