Ian Cummings, creative director of Madden NFL 11, recently had a chance to play Fight Night Champion, calling it "f'ing amazing." His enthusiasm for another EA Sports game is unsurprising, but the other detail certainly is: "Fight Night Champion is M-rated ... it's definitely going to wow folks."

As spotted by Kotaku, the official website for Fight Night Champion was updated with a description of EA Sports' new direction for the franchise. "As the first-ever 'M' rated EA SPORTS title, Fight Night Champion showcases the truest graphical representation of the sport, lifestyle, and culture of boxing with authentic and dynamic blood, realistic body damage and deformation, and mature content throughout. Experience the violence and brutality that is true to the trade."

Wow, that first trailer got me pumped. Very excited for this one.

I have never bought a boxing game in my life, and it looks like this will be my first. This game looks SICK.

Definitely will be picking up this! I'm a huge Fight Night fan and they seem to be improving the series every year! Oh yeah...THERE WILL BE BLOOD!!

I like Fight Night.

I played the last one and was just about to become the Champ but my power went out when it was saving and I couldn't reload the game after restarting my box. The training regimens are almost harder than the actual fights. I was killing it too. Won every fight by KO and only a couple made it outside of the first round. Pretty sure Ali was whipping me for a good number of rounds and then I went straight defensive mode and only counter punched.

You certainly weren't playing on G.O.A.T setting then! =p Or if you were, you are fugging amazing at that game 'cause my god GOAT can be hard.

Round 2 is still my favorite, but Round 4 is really close. I still want them to improve the counter system in the games though, I never really liked either of them, they are too gimmicky and unrealistic, though 4 made a good attempt at fixing it.
