Bob Sturm just put out his final list of defensive “splash plays.” Sturm defines splash plays as the following:

So, Sturm actually creates a broad range of criteria for which a defensive player can register a “splash play.”

the most depressing thing about this stat is that jaylon smith apparently never comes off the field.
I know we all want him gone (myself included), but the Cowboys utilized him in a more limited way in 2018 and he was effective.

If they’re gonna keep him he can’t be the play caller back there playing 99% of the snaps. They need to limit his role into the things he does well and make him a rotational LB. I’d rather him be overpaid and effective than overpaid and ineffective.

Bob should create another list of ill timed defensive celebrations. Jaylon wins that category by a large margin.

Sturm is just a hater!

Jaylon Smith should be an edge rusher in a 3-4 alignment. He has burst and speed but next to no lateral agility. He's a straight-line player that lacks the flexibility to play in space as a 4-3 linebacker.

Just my opinion.

The OT will win that matchup 11 out of 10 times.

He is the heart and soul of our defense. The leader!!!

Is there any mystery why our defense suck?

17 great plays out of 1100? That is pathetic. Especially for a guy in the middle of everything at MLBer.
