Purchased a used Dell, but I can't get the web pages to look the same. In short, all the pages look squeezed:

I went to File-Page Setup and typed in the same numbers as my old computer but no dice. My current page margins are 12.7 all around. Fiddling with those numbers hasn't helped. "Portrait" is checked, as is the "shrink to fit page width" box. Any ideas? Gracias.

Hold the ctrl key down and roll your mouse wheel until you find a size you like.

Thanks. Still a little wonky, but better. I'll figure it out.

Doubt this is the problem but it could be worth a try.

CTR and the + key will make the text larger
CTR and the - key will make them smaller.

CTR and the zero key will make it default

Once again, doubt it is the problem but could give it a whirl.

It works, but I'm trying to avoid having to do that (manually) each time I log on. I'll keep experimenting.

Oh...I thought you were just trying to get it straightened out from scratch. Did not know you had to do the stuff every time.

Have you thought about completely uninstalling firefox and download and install a new copy? Everything should revert to default that way.

Just out of curiosity...have you tried using IE and see if you are having the same problem...if you are it must be a windows setting of some sort.

Make sure your computer is set to the correct resolution...

The person before might have it set incorrectly to accomodate an external monitor...

It came with IE7 already installed, and the page layouts look better compared to Firefox. Frankly, I've got some desktop programs that don't right either (Xnews), so the answer might lie in the control panel (a la trickblue's advice).
