I had first aid training all the way back in Highschool Military First Aid from JORTC, then in the military, Boyscouts (as a leader) and then recently even got Red Cross certified.

You just never know when you are going to need the skill.

Tonight I was doing my Aikido training and we where done I was sitting their folding my hakama and the mixed martial arts guys that train on the other half of the map was working on their ground stuff.

Next thing I know I hear a scream from a guy and he is talking about talk to me do not let me go in to shock. The guys he trained with where talking to him but where not sure what to do they grabbed some ice. I went over and asked what happen he had hurt his leg they think shin , ankle maybe something else. I took charge and stared everyone looking for something to splint the leg from ankle to above the knee since they where not sure. We stabilized it and the only we where able to move him was carry him so I found a shower curtain finally.

I advised everyone to get trained on first aid because you never know when someone will need help and you may be the only person that knows how to help.
