Well. It sucks but already doing mocks because this team did it again. So here I go. Only did 3 rounds.

24-Jordan Morgan OT
56-Byron Murphy II DT
87-Payton Wilson LB

Considering we dont have any mid round picks as of now. This is the best I could do. I think this helps the run game and OL massively.

Thoughts?

Love the players…but think there is zero chance Murphy makes it to the 2nd. Have heard from multiple analysts he’s DT 1 and likely won’t even be available at 24.

I concur... this would be an ideal draft but like you stated. Murphy is a riser right now and won't be available. Payton Wilson will also be taken higher than the Cowboys pick in the third. Unless his medicals don't check out at the combine. After all the pre-draft hoopla I could see him having to be taken with pick 56 if you wanted him.

I love drafting trenches and both sides are a need. I doubt the Murphy pick happens because there are not 56 better players in the draft. Also the 2nd round is where swinging for the fences starts. You know the type. High risk/ reward. Or someone falls they didnt expect like Legette who is too good to pass up. Watch Trotter out of Clemson at LB. Broaddus keeps talking him up.

3 good players that would contribute right away.

People have already mentioned but Murphy is ascending.
Its early. So I am not shocked. I didnt think this would happen but man what an improvement this team would have. I need to do some research and see which players have character concerns, legal trouble, or have had to move teams because of being uncoachable and then do it again in the second round.

What other lbs were available to you in 3rd?

Trotter is a lil undersized. Not saying he's not a good player, just if the goal is to get bigger at DT and lb he's a bit undersized

What about Barton in the first to replace Biadasz if he is there on the board and we can re-sign Tyron and push OT 1 year out.
Barton is my guy love the player. He wants to play LT, with arm length under 33 might be a stretch but that's whe has said he wants to play.

He is comparable to Rashawn Slater, in that way.

Seemed to work out alright for LAC

Things could change with free agency but listening to Isaiah Stanback on Dallas Cowboys.com. He wants to use, which I agree with, 1st and 2rd rd on the OL. When the OL is running, it helps the entire team. We already know this from the 90s. Dallas OL was awesome. Teams knew the LEAD DRAW was coming and still could not stop it.
So, I love the Morgan pick, then I would go after the Oregon center with the 2nd rd pick. If he is gone then the Georgia center. The with the 3rd rd pick the LB.
Now, I would see how the board was falling and if the team can move down a few spots ( like 2-3), get a 3rd/4th for the extra pick and use that pick on the DT or RB.

BTW on the draft show Broaddus on the draft show yesterday made a "January prediction". Cowboys draft LB Cooper out of Texas A&M FWIW.

Dude is a beast…its early but looks like a viable option.

Hes a playmaker. A lot of of TFLs, pressures and 10 sacks in the SEC. I think that bumps the value up.

I’d imagine you have to take him at 24 if you want him…but obviously a lot of pre draft process to go.
no sir cooper is ranked as the 61st in terms of players. Him and Trotter are pretty close to eachother as the 3rd/4th ranked LBers in the draft. I can't see more than 2 going in the first round with Braswell a huge reach at 24th.

61st based off of what?

Braswell isn’t an off the ball LBr.

based on position value and the amount of OT/WR and CB that will go in round 1. He won't go that early. 61 may be a reach but he will likely be there for our 2nd pick or be a trade candidate around the high 40's.
