For me the first round is simple. If there is some high end, blue chip type pass rusher or DT, there are few very instances I would ever pass on them. And considering they are both big needs for this team, it would be my first goto pick if the guy is there.

If blue chippers are gone at those two positions I am taking the best blue chip OLineman on the board. He can be either a guard, tackle or center. Take the best one. I would not take a 2nd tier pass rusher over a blue chip Olineman. I have seen Jones reach too many times for Dlineman and it hasnt been pretty.

Next in line for me would be any other blue chip type defender such as a high end corner that drops or linebacker.

Definitely not taking a WR or TE or RB in the first round. Im trading down if I dont like any of whats available above.

In the 2nd round I am a little more flexible and would entertain a top end WR if he is there. But the other positions above would still be the priority.

3rd round I am all about TE, WR, RB and or best available at any position. With all these 5th round picks I have no problem giving those up to move up in rounds 2, 3, or 4.

I know there are the WR crew out there, you guys seem to pop up every single year. Im not there from a need standpoint or priority standpoint.

Not a bad strategy, and very close to mine.
1) Blue chip starter -- prefer 1T, OL, LB, DE in that order
2) If you got 1T get OL, if got OL, get 1T.
3) Rounds 3 and 4 are TE and LB --- if you can find ones that will work
4) Round 5 -- WR, DE, and more OL, and RB
5) Round 6 -- Best developer.

Who do you call a blue chip Pass Rusher. There appear to be 4 that could go in the first 8 picks. Then there is Karlaftis who is a late first early second. So there won't be one available or you are reaching for Karlaftis?

Travis Jones DT UConn is the player to target with a minor trade down, but the team just won't do it!

agreed it’s not likely we get a blue chip DE.

I’m Not on the WR train. That would be one of last options.

You can put your mind at ease, Jerry pretty much spelled it out a few weeks ago that they'll be taking OL unless a Parsons or Lamb falls and this draft doesn't have either of those.

I would never put anything dumb past Jerry.

Whenever anyone assigns positions to rounds you know they don't understand the draft.

Anyone who thinks the Cowboys will draft a DT in the first 2 rounds is clearly out of touch with reality.
