Fish says the one thing he would change if he was in charge, is the culture and the mix of football and all the marketing.
He gets into details about how jerry uses himself, and the cowboys to promote his other deals ,and how as GM he spends very little time on GM'ing the cowboys.
It is interesting, some of it you already know, but not all of it.

He’s GM in title only. You think Jerry actually watches tape? Lol. McClay is the GM, and Stephen works out the terms. That’s why McClay stay’s because he’s paid like it, and doesn’t have to face the fire from it. An amazing job to have.

If that's the case, McClay should be fired today. He's built a very poor roster. There's holes EVERYWHERE.

not really jerry and his boy are involved in who is drafted, and any FA moves they make or decide not to make.
They also make other roster decisions, like elliot being starter or getting more carries than rico last game.

They actually have a 3 headed GM.
McClay does the minor GM duties, and they all work together on some things.
When jerry traded for lance, I bet McClay did not even know about it.

Jerry is literally Richard Pryor's spirit animal.

He's an 80 year old version of the kid in "The Toy" except he has enough $ to afford a whole football team of clowns to entertain him.

And: he's Pryor himself in "Brewster's Millions": a failed jock trying to blow $ every way conceivable w/horrible contracts and trash FA signings. All the while looking for an even bigger payday.

Both great movies! As a child I loved The Toy! Probably seen it 50 times.

The roster isn’t poor because of McClay.

Ita shallow because of the lack of free agency and not restocking the cabinet. They let a lot of guys walk in free agency and continue to bring in cheap guys on one year deals.

You can draft well. But it eventually catches up to you

The roster isn't poor. That's why they have been winning 12 games a year.
