Lots of film. A couple excerpts:

What changed between the opener against Tampa Bay and the Bears game was play calling. For a majority of the past few seasons, the entire burden of Dallas' offense has been thrust on Prescott's shoulders. The offense was static in its personnel, formations, and pre-snap movement and loved to lean on sharp, timing-based routes as the basis of the passing offense. Prescott has the capacity to operate like that, but even for quarterbacks who can do it, offense should never have to be that difficult. There are no extra points awarded for playing offense on hard mode. Mike McCarthy and Kellen Moore were forced to find simpler answers when Rush was at quarterback, and now they have been able to carry some of that over with a better point guard running the show.

The Cowboys have also gotten much better about moving CeeDee Lamb around into advantageous positions, a trend that started out of necessity with Rush behind center.

Effective as they were, an offense doesn't put up 49 points living off layups. The quarterback has to pull his weight and make top-shelf throws. That was the beauty in Dallas' game plan and execution on Sunday. They were able to toe the line between making things easy for Prescott and still getting a handful of the difficult throws that raise an offense from good to great. Prescott has always been capable of those plays but they are so, so much sweeter when he doesn't have to play at that level every single snap.

I agree, the effectiveness of the run game really help Dallas in the passing game using play action. I think having Dak play within the scheme as opposed to having him carry the load is the right away to go about offense.

Every year it's the same thing, this offense kicks butt on the crap teams and folds like a wet taco against better defenses. We'll know if there's been any improvement after the Minny and Philthy games.

True, you face tougher competition it is harder to move the ball that is why those teams are good to start with, but good teams find ways to get the job done. I don't expect Dallas to move the ball at will vs top contending teams but what I do expect is to continue to play sound and smart football.

That was informative. Thanks for posting.

Of course, that's what is needed but that hasn't been what happens every year. It's deja vu all over again when we play crappy teams and the peanut gallery starts talking about how everything is fixed, then the team gets exposed and embarrassed when the competition steps up.

He looks good against a team playing their 2nd back to back road game that happens to also be a non-playoff team with a QB who is basically an RB.
Dak is GOD once again.......WOOF WOOF.

P.S.I don't have to wait for Minn or the Eagles game as history has shown in big games Dak falls flat on his face taking us down with him!

Dak is just doing what he is paid to do. Just like Cooper did, remember? Now is when the rubber meets the road. Let's see on this next three game stretch how he holds up. Hopefully, he is the All World talent you all claim he is. The best QB in the NFC playoffs....well, we'll be watching and hoping you are right. Because he certainly hasn't performed like it previously.

This is an excellent article and boils down exactly how I feel about what we have been doing with Dak. Hard Mode.....i like that. Throw on top of it predictable playcalls, a rb on a bum leg, and a bunch of penalties....super hard mode indeed.

It then turns into mission-impossible mode against good defenses and coordinators.

It will be interesting to see us use this approach against a good team and see if we have the same issues or not.

I've been saying it for a while now Dak Prescott is a West Coast quarterback. Meaning he's not the type of quarterback that is going to light it up using a bunch of option routes. You take out all of the option routes and Prescott will shine. Moore has learned that and that's good. But...

Zeke was the better RB in the game against Tampa, week one. Moore pulled Zeke and gave most of the reps to Pollard. If Moore could just learn to go with the hot hand at RB per game, he'd be a good play caller.

I guess Pollard spent the game on the sidelines and made no contribution whatsoever.....

You did notice the balanced attack, right? That's when you will see Dak at his best. If you want to beat Dak you have to put the games in his hands and force him to win it. More times than not that is going to end up in disaster.

Dak who? Why do you ask questions like this? We all love Prescott. Ok? That make you feel better?

Say what you want, Cóoper Rush sealed Dak's fate if he lays another egg this season.
There's no getting around it. Rush showed what the Cowboys could be with a real quarterback at the helm against good teams.
So hype him all you want; the gauntlet has been laid.

We didn't hear any of this when Cooper Rush was playing. All we heard was how much better off we'd be when Dak returns.
No excuses. If Dak fails again, the evidence of it will be easy to see.

Papsmear is beyond obsessed with Dak. Just look up his Twitter profile under the same handle. All he posts is ugly Dak hatred stuff on there. His profile says he's from New York. I wonder if he's actually a giants fan masquerading as a Cowboys fan?
