I bought a 40'" Samsung LED HDTV

a couple a weeks ago

well then I noticed these faint lines in the screen

they are about three inches down from the top of the TV

right in the middle

about three inches long a quater of inch thick

I already took one back ?

got the new set up has the same thing

not really a problem - they are hard to see with any color but if a white backround is there - you can definately see them

I did not pay a$1000 bucks for lnes in my TV

any body know what they are ???????????

Are the lines there no matter the source (tv, dvd, camera)?? If so, probably just bad sets. If you took it back and got another then it's probably a bad batch. Can you get your money back and go somewhere else? Maybe try another tv entirely.

Can you maybe take a pic of what you're seeing and post it?

I think they are government mandated for monitoring households, for the DEA,Homeland Security,BTAF,IRS,and people that want to know what you are watching. You just happened to see them where others didn't notice.

you better believe it - big brother

My best guess is that there is a problem with the dynamic lighting zones with the side-lit. I don't know if you can just plug in your model number and "side lit issues" or "problems with lines", etc. into a search.

You should though definitely had the place where you bought it tell you what the problem was with the first one when they send it to whatever place to have it looked at.

Where'd you get the TV from?

Have you considered a different TV?

Every manufacturer has a bad model line... it appears you found Samsungs...

Take it back and get a different series or a different brand...

I've had a LOT of luck with Sharp... Panasonic is good as well...

Stay away from Philips...
